History

Established in 2002, the agency got off to a flying start, scooping the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ prestigious Consumer Relationship award for our very first client, The Watercress Alliance. 

The campaign, “Not Just a Bit on the Side,“ helped revitalise the industry, boosting sales by £1.75 million and turning a 15% sales decline into an 11% increase.  Four years on, sales are now up £18 million a year.

Agency founder Wendy Akers has more than 25 years experience in the communications industry.  Starting her career as a journalist, she is passionate about the media and understands what makes the news.

She has a thorough knowledge of the food, health and gardening sectors, built up over 20 years working in-house and in agency roles, promoting big brands such as Safeway, Muller and Tropicana as well as smaller niche products. 

The team has an excellent knowledge of the gardening sector, handling projects for English Heritage, the National Trust, The National Gardens Scheme and Tendercare Nurseries. Wendy is a member of the Garden Writers’ Guild and holds the RHS General Certificate.
