More than 10,000 people flock to our annual Watercress Festival, which we organise for The Watercress Alliance to celebrate the start of the UK season and to launch National Watercress Week.
Music, street theatre, cookery demonstrations from Antony Worrall Thompson, children’s cookery classes, a food market, farm tours and food awards are just a few of the highlights.
As well as providing a great family day out, the festival has been extremely successful in providing a media platform to promote our key messages of health, taste and versatility.
Extensive press coverage has been generated by the event, including a 5 minute feature for BBC Gardeners’ World and a special GMTV outside broadcast. Gillian Carter, the editor of BBC Good Food Magazine, was also one of our Watercress Festival Food Award judges.
